Bathrooms of Bainbridge

Restrooms listed are within two shopping areas, Winslow Way and High School Road

Public Restrooms:

Ferry Dock. Just within the entrance to the ferry building are the men's and women's facilities. They are located on the harbor side of the entrance. Plain and simple. Two smaller restrooms (not accessible) available under the ferry building, Accessible.

Hours: Almost round the clock.

Bainbridge Island Police Station. Corner of S305 and Winslow Way. Two bathrooms. Unisex. Accessible.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Bainbridge Island Commons. Located on Bjune, across from Waterfront Park. Accessible.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sat/Sun.


Waterfront Park. Bainbridge's new facility. Located near the waterfront dock area. Respite for boaters at last! Showers available. Two restrooms. Accessible.


The Town Hall. Located on Madison Street. Restroom facilities are at the back of the building. Use the side door and then step along the hall. An additional facility is available outside at the back of the building. Great to have on Farmers Market Day. Accessible.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Bainbridge Public Library. Proceeding north up Madison Avenue, the Bainbridge Island Public Library is located on the corner of High School Road and Madison. The restrooms are ideally located just within the front door. An inclusive family restroom with changing shelf in the Children's section is on the lower level. Can be reached by an inside elevator or stairs or outside by the walk behind the building. Accessible. Hours: Vary.

KidiMu. Set back from the street on Winslow Way, two facilities housed in the Bainbridge's children's museum. Accessible with changing stations. Hours: Tues-Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun. 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.


Town and Country Store. Winslow Way. This watering station is located on the lower level and best approached from the accessible parking lot entrance. They are to the left of the sales counter at the back. Roomy and utterly clean, these facilities are well cared for. A touch of class--the flowers.

Hours: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.


Blackbird Bakery. Located on the north side of Winslow Way by the cross walk. Small and unisex, it takes courage to walk through the crowded shop to the obvious door with the sign "The Loo." Flighty in decor. Buy a cookie or coffee to say thanks. Accessible. Unisex.

Hours: M-F 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sat/Sun. Slightly changed.


Winslow Mall. Bless the Mall. Two restrooms on the left at the back. Nicely outfitted in tile. A key may be required. Second floor, hiding behind the Subway Sandwich Shop and near West Side Pizza, two facilities. Take time to savor the unique shops in this tiny mall. Accessible. Unisex. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours vary.


Flowering Around. On Winslow Way, just a half block from Winslow Green. The flower shop offers tea and coffee and an accessible restroom. Easy to locate between the shop and small tea room. A thoughtful addition. Accessible. Unisex. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Winslow Green. Corner of Madison and Winslow Way. Tucked behind the stores fronted by the Bainbridge Bakery, a short walk down the alley to your right is a door, which leads to the hall and three unisex rooms. Accessible.

Hours: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.


The Pavilion. To the rescue. Located on Madison Street, the Pavilion houses great cinema screens, restaurants and two, imagine two, good restroom facilities. One is located just outside the theater entrance with lots of stalls and changing stations. The second is up the steps and to the left. Facilities are top notch. This just might be a good opportunity to enjoy the ice cream and goodies at the small cafe and see what's happening at the athletic facilities and the play center upstairs. Accessible.

Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m


Safeway. Located on High School Road, down from Madison Avenue and two blocks from S305. A restroom is available at the back of the store near the pharmacy. Note that there is a public restroom sign by the door. A bare minimum stop. Accessible. Unisex. Hours: An unbelievable 24 hours.


76 Gas Station. Islander Market and Deli. Situated on the north side of High School road, this stop offers gas, a place for lunch and two clean, well-marked restrooms. Accessible

Hours: 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.


Rite Aid. Located in the High School Road shopping center, this store offers two restrooms. They are located at the left side of the store as you enter and at the back. Respect the employees only sign and seek permission and key. Accessible. Unisex.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.


Chevron. On the corner of Hildebrand and High School Road, the station deserves the highest accolades. The facility stands alone, away from the station, clearly marked and convenient. The restrooms are locked but just press the button provided and the lock is released. This facility is worth the walk from the shopping center. Consider a purchase to offer your gratitude. Accessible. Unisex.

Ace Hardware Store. Located on High School Road across S305, this restroom facility has the best interior design on the

block. While slightly hidden from view, this proud place, papered in blue, is situated in the home furnishing section at the back. The counter space is long and could even rescue a parent needing a diaper changing area.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekend hours vary.


McDonald's of Winslow. On High School road across S305, McDonald's has rescued many. Two facilities, male and female, are always available with late hours to accommodate late nighters in a town that often closes too early. Accessible.

Hours: 5 a.m. to 12 a.m.


Around the Island.

Facilities are available at Battle Point Park, Fort Ward State Park, Fay Bainbridge State Park and Eagledale Park. Weaver Road Park.

This information provided by the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center which is located on Bjune Street, directly down the hill from the Town and Country Market. The Center welcomes "seniors" 50 years and over! A yearly membership fee of $10.00 opens the doors to activities that rock: line dancing, softball, cycling, bridge, bingo, meals Monday through Friday and perhaps the warmest welcome in town. Seniors are "on the go." and everywhere making our community a community.
